MONTEVISTA OBSERVATORY . . .
This was my personal roof-top Observatory at my residence in Barangay Montevista- one of the 61 barangays in the City of Bacolod.
Except for the structural construction of the dome portion, the structure was practically built by me alone, with the buiding foundation having been started in late 1985, until this was expanded in 1987.  The construction in 1985 was originally planned in time for the scheduled apparition of Halley's Comet, but was unfortunately however delayed by over a year's time.
The Observatory was first equipped with the installation of a home-constructed 200-mm reflector instrument (which was later purchased by the Science Department of the University of St. LaSalle).  This was then replaced with the arrival of a 200-mm Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector by Meade Instruments.

During its time, the Observatory also played host to a number of visitors who were earnestly curious with celestial objects in the night sky.  But more importantly, it also saw the visitation of local journalists and media people who sought information on current sky events, such as during the apparitions of comets Hayakutake (1996) and Hale-Bopp (1997).
